Removing a self adhesive border

I decorated my sons bedroom a couple of years ago. We lined the walls with lining paper, than applied a self adhesive border all the way around the room. Does anyone have any ideas on how to remove the border so I can just repaint the walls and add a new border, rather than reline the walls again!!

In my experience those borders stick like pooh in a blanket, you could try a steamer but you're probably gonna take the lining paper off whatever you do.

If you're just replacing the border then I'd paint the walls and stick the new border over the old. If your son is young then you'll be redecorating it soon enough :)
