Evening all!
My, my, it's taken me a while to catch up on all the dribble today!
sheloves - delete the pm and don't give it another thought, it's such a shame that some people feel they have to be like that - in my opinion a forum is just like tv ..... if you don't like it, change the channel. Children should be celebrated, regardless of whether they excel or not.
Re the books, I distinctly recall reading Enid Blytons when I was around 7, and weirdly enough was looking on Amazon for them just the other day. It was the Faraway Tree series I loved, and I even think I'd enjoy reading them now! Just a thought, although they are quite fantasy based?
2cats, so sorry to hear about your kitty. I have 2 comparative youngsters, and my 'old man' kitty lives with the ex, getting a little stiff but just as adorable as ever. Hopefully she'll improve and enjoy your pampering for a bit longer.
Great that you have an new idea Jo! :T Please don't feel guilty about not posting much money-wise - I think I speak for everyone when I say that I find you so totally inspirational, you always seem to know the right thing to say, and you have a very special way with those words too, thank you!
Well my hooking has ground to a halt. I need black wool. I have none :rotfl: Not sure whether I should carry on with a different colour just as a prototype, or if the meaning behind it will get completely lost. Ho hum!

Toots I loved reading Enid Blyton at that age too and loved the magic faraway tree and children of cherry tree farm, mr galliano's circus but especially the five find outers which no-one else ever seems to have read.
Thanks for your really kind words. I am a bit embarrassed now:o.

My wife and I read our 4 year old DD The faraway tree and she loves it. It has been her favourite bedtime book since she was 2. We read other stories in between but always go back to it every few month. We are reading the third book in the series now - The folk of the faraway tree. We got a hardback collection of the full set in Costco ages ago for a fiver. She loves silky, moonface, saucepan man and dame washalot and all the others. I'm just immature and love the fact two of the kids have rude names. Naughty Enid :rotfl:Would like to: Retire at 54. 19yrs .Clear mortgage by 50. 16yrs. I was so obsessed though that I wanted a shed for my 8th birthday to have a club house like FATTY. and I used to try and disguise myself like they did and then be so disappointed when I went outside and one of the neighbours would say hello Joanne.
very sad.
