  • Love the blog Baby, very interesting and looking forward to the next instalment.

Well, first race of the season over, and didn't pan out anywhere near how I would have liked, but hey ho, I love my racing so I'm relatively happy!

Ebay listings looking better than I had hoped and I uploaded another couple earlier, aiming to keep things going instead of waiting till everything is over and then having to start from scratch.

I popped into a local shop after work yesterday to get some different size crochet hooks, and they didn't have any, so I'm a bit stalled. I also couldn't resist buying wool while I was there - I gave myself a hard time over it later cos I really don't need any, but got some new stuff which will be beyond perfect for something I want to make, so it might work out well in the end!

Sounds like you're really getting into the car boots Elly, good for you!

Lol, good on a nice fresh spring day, not such an attractive prospect when it's yukky outside!

Ok peeps, I need your thoughts/input/help! Long story, will try to keep it short! I 'own' three domains and can't decide which one to go with for crocheted home spun goodies, and I trust your collective wisdom.

I have madebytoots.com and .co.uk, and I also have tweedledee.co.uk. Now my issues are these - when I originally got the tweedledee domain I was considering selling some lovely unusual pieces, not ornaments as such, but along those lines, and I thought that the name suited the idea. I then thought about using it as the name for my new selling site, but not sure that a) it suggests homemade and b) people will remember how to spell it! plus c) someone holds the .com domain and the site is full of odds. Also, I would have to pay £10 to get the tweedledee domain retagged by Nominet. So now I'm thinking I'd be better with the madebytoots domains as I can redirect from one to the other, and it might suit my goods better?

Thoughts would be appreciated lol, hopefully I'm making sense to someone who understands better than I :rotfl:

  • I'd go with made by toots. It's easier to remember (and spell...I'm sure my attempt at spelling tweedledee wouldn't even be recognized by google and it could then point me to the other site) and you have both domains, so you could point the dot com to the dot co dot uk and make sure you get all your traffic.

    Just my thoughts though :)

  • Thank you Saucy, I appreciate it! I'm heading in that direction more and more - should point out that my goodies will be child orientated, mainly handmade toys / blankets / etc

second the made by toots for reasons already stated
  • I think Made By Toots will be perfect :)
I'm sure others will give their opinions when we find them though, lol.

I'm trying to get this weeks writing done...Am planning an official website launch with the new logo and promotions and website layout next week, maybe Wednesday? With everything I've made listed, and maybe a promotional code for so much off or free postage.

Will want to go out in my new dress at some point though, and still need some supplies to turn up...feels like I'm endlessly waiting for the postman. Feeling a bit lost, too, OH was supposed to be back today but his parents keep asking him to do things and he doesn't know if he'll be able to get back now. So I might be alone again tonight :( House needs a clean before he gets home...got terrible back ache, though.

And there's my life story for the day :rotfl:

  • Thank you Cally! Looks like the two of you have reaffirmed my initial thoughts. I know the tweedledee domain will stay 'mine' until I cancel, so I can always have it retagged later if I decide to use it for something else.

Sounds like you're very busy Saucy, take it easy on yourself or you'll overdo it! Never mind cleaning the house, it can't be that bad since you've been on your ownsome. Enjoy your free time hun, crank the music up and chill!

Sounds good Saucy!! Looking forward to that :-)

I like madebytoots. Think Tweedledee sounds a bit.. well ...twee for what you're making.

Quick question for the car booters- do you price your items before you go with price labels or do you wait for people to ask prices?
