  • God - I had tons of pages to catch up on- I hate not reading it all as I am sure I will miss the top tip that will change my life !

Sulkies - they are fab ! And the idea of the anti men is fantastic - great divorce presents ! I cant believe how you just had the idea, made them up, and are selling them !!!

Munchki - congrats on the job - I know how down you were getting, but that bit of fighting spirit deep down has paid off !

Saucy - have i missed something? I saw lots of posts about new notebooks, but I can only see the first one? did they all sell and I missed it?

Babymoo - Favorably Different? I like the idea of you specialising in something - I think if you try to cover all areas you may miss your niche.

the vital life changing tip I did pick up was about ebay. I have sold quite a lot over the last few days ( well for me anyway !) and I only sell on BIN, immediate payment, UK only. Someone on here said selling abroad increased sales dramatically.

So question of the day - do you sell abroad? What % of your sales are UK only? Do you get problems with UK buyers or foreign or both? I have 500 feedback, 100% positive and I have convinced myself that is because I only deal with UK. I think I am wrong !

woohoo. I was trying to move gadgets around on my blogger layout page and they just wouldn't. was really worried about how I would be able to add things to my blog at a later date as new gadgets would only go to the top of a column which prob wasn't where I would want them.
anyway after googling at 1 am realised it was a known problem with a few browsers. tried it in internet explorer on our pc this morning and it works properly . yay.
thought I'd mention it in case anyone else has similar problems.

I work part time too, I don't think I'll get stung too much for tax, as you can deduct a lot of stuff, and you have to make a profit before you can be taxed anyway.
  • Morning (just!) all!

Paula, the new Sulkies are great and I absolutely love the way you've written about them on your shop, comes across really naturally and very funny! :T

I've been meaning to pop on to everyone's blogs and duly follow and hadn't got around to it, so I'm going to spend a wee while doing that today - Nixi, am following you now, so 1 down, only 2 to go!

Still pressing that damn F5 button on eBay, have got 15 and 3 watchers respectively on my coats, but no bids with only 3 and a half hours to go, I so hope they're not going to be a major disappointment!

Going to spend this afternoon sorting out my Gumtree buy for listing on eBay, and that'll take me a while so I'm aiming to get my head down and get on with it! Then the rest of the day hooking methinks, I ordered some stuffing but it hasn't arrived yet and I'm getting impatient!

Despite saying I'm going to be ultra busy today, I am quite sure I will be distracted by the need to dribble! :rotfl:

Moneymabel - got to your blog through your site, but don't see any way to follow it - I could well be missing something as I really haven't a clue about blogging, is there a way?

    Hi jo

I am doing well actually ! Makes a change.

I started to move stuff out into the empty sheds and as I was moving the stock, I listed it on ebay. Plan was to do 1 a day, but got 52 listings done this week, most with 3 - 10 items per listing. Sold a few things, between £1 profit and £30 profit per item. So I am feeling great.

Accidentally bought somethings from China ! Long story but searched on ebay for something for DD3, DD2 wanted one too, so I was costing it up and then saw how many the seller had sold. Thought I would just check the price at a wholesaler and ended up buying 30 to try !! Hope they will get some sales from school friends too when they take them in. Fingers crossed.

Got 2 good wholesalers in UK I have used - stock shifting from both so I am happy. And I have a renewed faith in ebay.

Had some other ideas, but I am putting these on a timeline for the year so I dont go overboard just yet.

Sold a lot of mailing bags to kids parents. I accidentally took some parcels to the school gates in the bottom of the pram. 2 parents asked where I got the mailing bags as they were selling on ebay so I made up packs of 20 mailing bags ( 4 of 5 different sizes) and sold them to them. one then told others and I had a few sales from that !

I sell costume jewellery now and again and had order of 50 earrings @ £1 a pair so happy with that ! cost me 20p each !

Taken kids to the cinema a few times which we have never done and that was great. Been to country park for a run around and just generally spending quality time together

I'm in a happy place right now x

Wow, I have some much admiration for people who are making things themselves to sell. It must be so satisfying and rewarding - kind of puts my little enterprise to shame.
    Love the sulkies!

I go through phases of loving ebay then hating it! Why don't people just pay straight away when they buy something? I sold an item for £2.99 BIN to someone with 100% feedback on 800+ items 5 days ago. They still haven't paid. I'm scared to open a NPB dispute because last time I did that I got negative feedback calling me impatient!! Its just not worth a possible negative for £2.99. But arghhh!!!
And ebay won't let me add pay immediately to my BIN items for some reason - don't you have to be a business seller for that?
