Baxi boiler hot water problem

Hi there 1st time user so please bear with me

We've had our Baxi boiler for 5 years now and had it serviced 1 year ago and all well until a few weeks ago.
When we want hot water we now have to run run the tap on full blast and wait for about 10 seconds before the water starts to heat up, it lasts for a couple of minutes then runs freezing cold again.

Previously it ran hot almost immediately and stayed that way until turned off, needless to say running a hot bath can take so long we have become incredibly eco freindly by default!

Anyone else had this problem?

Hello - another first time user here! I had exactly the same problem with my Main bolier (its Baxi under a different badge), again on a approx 5 year old boiler. The problem is apparently a switch in the boiler not operating properly so as to flip the hot water on - sometimes resetting the boiler made it work, but then it would flick off again. I had an engineer come out to fix it - did it under the British gas scheme where you sign up and it cost me about £90 (and £20 a month thereafter for cover). I should also warn you that after a while we got a strange green discharge underneath the boiler - I think from where the switch was leaking. Hope that helps!

If it needs a replacement part I suppose I should get the yellow pages out and get quote collecting, will keep a look out for lovely green gunk espacially as it is above a lovely cream carpet!!
