What browser do you use? I used to get this problem occasionally with Firefox, I seem to remember it saves automatic backups of the bookmarks

Hi Angel
I didn't write an Internet Explorer one because I think you're using Firefox, because they're called Favourites in Internet Explorer. If you look at the pictures of what you click on and match it up to one of the below. If none of the icons match, open the program with the missing bookmarks then click Help > About. It will say "about Mozilla Firefox" or "about Internet Explorer provided by BT Yahoo" something like that.

Mozilla Fix- Open My Documents
- Click Tools
- Open up your My Documents (Start - My Documents)
- Click on Tools > Folder Options
- Click on the Tab called View
- Untick the box which says "hide hidden files and folders" then click apply
- Now open up Firefox
- Click Bookmarks - Organise Bookmarks
- Select Import and Backup
- Click backup and type a name then save your CURRENT Favourites so you don't lost them
- Now select Important and Backup > Restore > Choose File
- The program "should" automatically go to the location, if not navigate to this location from My Computer
- Now, double click on the most recent file and click OK
- You will get a warning message which says "this will replace all your bookmarks" click yes to this
- Click OK to all Windows then close and reopen your Internet program
