Wall tiles for my kitchen

Hi

I have just purchased a cream glossy kitchen with a few cabinets being red glossy colour. I have purchased a black matt floor tile but I am stuck which wall tiles to get. Should I get cream gloss tiles with a few red gloss tiles? Should I have matt? Should i have boarders or is that old fashion? Please help.

Why not consider upstands, along with a splashback behind the hob? Upstands are made from the same material as the worktop and are, I think, about 7 to 10cm high. They look neater than tiles, I think, and this would solve your colour dilemma. Splashbacks are sometimes available in the worktop material (depending upon manufacturer and/or the type of hob you have, etc), but are also available in other materials like stainless steel and glass.

Have a look at Johnsons website. I got the brick tile in gloss, colour was called Kiwi. I love it goes really well with my white high gloss kitchen. BTW you can buy/order Johnsons tiles through Tops Tiles

So glad you posted this - we have just ordered a cream gloss kitchen and are chossing tiles! I wouldn't have a border though - definitely a bit dated. Upstands are a good option but we cancelled our upstands as husband doesn't like them GRRRRRRRR !!! So now I am back to tiles. We might have a splashback in stainless steel or glass behind the hob and tiles over the other side of kitchen where the window is. Not chosen a colour yet - I am hopeless and normally just stick with neutral tones!!! I was thinking of goingfor matt tiles as a contrast to the gloss but really not sure yet, will have to get a few samples and stick them up to see which ones look best! Good luck, let us know what you go for

I wish I knew about upstand when i ordered the kitchen but its too late for that now as the kitchen is being fitted in a few days and it took a month to order.

However, I have been looking at glossy brick tiles. Can you tell me which size as I saw a murano beige wall tiles from topps tiles but I think its too big. The size is 60cm x 30cm.

Since i have ivory and a bit of red cabinet, what colour should I use for tiles? Just cream or should i mix with red? Should i also add black to the mix?

i love those glass spalshbacks but i got a cream glossy kitchen and i chose cream tiles to go with it,,altho it took me ages to pick the right colour of cream as you can imagine there are a lots of variations on cream..also it worked well with a dark brown worktop,
