Joint Bank Account help please

Hello, I've just about paid off my student debts, now me and my boyfriend are both saving up to get a house together, only renting but we need the bond and some furniture and generally want to get a bit in front!

We want a joint bank account to run alongside our separate current accounts that we can save into, but is there such a thing that will allow us to save but then use it to pay for bills i.e. Direct debits etc once we have moved in together?

Thanks,
sorry if i'm overlooking the obvious i am financially clueless :)

  • Pretty much any joint account will fulfil the things you're after. A joint account will come with all of the facilties of a normal current account, except that two people have access to the funds :)

Why create a financial link when you don't need one?
  • i see what you mean getmore but 'joint bank account' must surely be somewhere up the ladder towards 'engagement ring' musn't it??? :P
