Transfer of digitised slides to actual photographs?

Hi, I wonder if anyone can help.
I'm a bit of a technophobe I'm afraid:o
Basically, I have some old slides (old fashioned projecter type).
I'd bought a slide converter and have now managed to put them onto my computer with the idea to print them off as old fashioned photographs.
Can this be done from a slide converter.
How do you do it?
(The photos have gone onto software that I think is called Arcsoft).
Do I need a special photo printer.
If so, are they any good and what it a good one to buy at a reasonable cost?
Help!

would you be better off saving the files in a suitable format and getting them printed via a conventional digital photo printing service

Jessops type thing -> some you upload online, others have printing machines in supermarkets/shopping centers, others still you burn to CD and post off or even try an old fashioned shop?

The range of printers that can print colour photos is vast.
How much to you want to spend, what size of photo do you want to print.
Whats wrong with your current printer.

If its just a few why not put the photo files onto a memory stick or CD and pop down to the supermarket and print them there.
That gum you like is coming back in style.
  • Hi, Thanks for the replies.
For some reason it won't let me upload them to an online photo service eg Tesco.
It does say that it will let me save them to disc but it won't let me save them to a memory stick.
I didn't know that a photo service would be able to take them from a disc.
    I'll give that a go.
I only have a bog standard printer so that's no good I'm afraid and I don't really want to go to the expense of a photo printer if I can help it.

If you can save to disc then Kodak kiosks in places like Boots can accept CD media.
