Gatwick airport hotel

Does anybody have any suggestions for a hotel at Gatwick airport? Last time we stayed at the Moat House and were very disappointed so this time I am looking for something a bit better that is within a few minutes (our flight out will be early and you have to be there well in advance). I believe there are some hotels connected directly to the airport.

Thanks
Ivan

you could try the hilton - this is connected directly to the South Terminal. They do parking hotel rates that can be reasonable. Otherwise around £100 for a non flexible rate. It does save the hassle of courtesy buses etc and gives you the extra 5 minutes in bed/drinking coffee.

Stayed at the Gatwick Hilton using Tesco Clubcard vouchers, upgraded to an exec room for £20 during checkin, it was fantastic.

Great buffet breakfast was included and because we used twilight checkin the morning of the flight was very relaxed.

For those who are a looking for something cheaper, then the Premier Travel Inn at Gatwick Aiport is very close to the North terminal building (and you can get the transit to the South terminal) if you don't mind walking across grass and the roundabout, if you want actual distances look at google maps.

There is a Travel Lodge at Gatwick which is only 5 mins drive away. A quick search of their website should tell you whether they have a room and what the cost will be for the date of your travel. They also charge £5 to park your car, so add that into your cost.

There is a Sofitel connected to the north terminal. Gatwick is very busy in the morning, even the shuttle buses from the non-connected hotels get stuck.

I cannot recommend the Hilton enough. The rooms are a little tired but show me any airport hotel that isn't, but the convenience of having your car there, and having a room in the airport is amazing.

We stayed in the Premier Travel Inn in April. It's a newish building and the rooms were very clean and comfortable. We had an evening snack and drinks there, then breakfast in the morning and the food was excellent. It's within walking distance of the North terminal, and there is a BP forecourt shop next door if you want to stock up on drinks and snacks for the flight at cheaper prices than airport shops!

Very good value for money, and I would highly recommend it.
Here I go again on my own....

Stayed in the travel lodge on a £26 deal a few weeks ago. (plus £5 to park the car overnight and £6.50 each for breakfast - optional). Basic facilities but for £26 well worth it. If you're using BCP for parking, the Travelodge is about 1 minute drive on the same road.

I would recommend http://www.holidayextras.co.uk/ if you have not already looked on there. The hotels seem cheaper with airport parking than booking directly with the hotels own website. I booked a room for £69 with up to 15 days parking in a 3* but I was only looking for value and not as worried about the room as it's just for 1 night.
