Compatible Printer Ink

I don't know if anyone else thinks that it would be a good idea, but recently my usual supplier of compatible inks disappeared off the face of the earth and I was forced to use somebody else. As you will appreciate this area is a bit of a minefield as to the quality of the inks and whether they will work or not.
So I propose that we start a thread detailing where we buy from, the price and also the quality?
If you think its a bad suggestion then please say.
I'll start us off with some that arrived this morning!

My Epson DX4000 decided it doesn't recognise my compatibles anymore, despite having worked fine with the same cartridges, and they're not even half empty yet!!0 -
If I remember the DX4000 also uses the T0711-0714 cartridges (I used to have one) and it is very fussy on the chips that the cartridges have. Also if you have done a firmware update on the printer that sometimes makes them reject them.
I have also found on every Epson I have ever owned that every so often you get the "Unrecognised Cartridge" error that seems to go away when you put a new one in. I did research this a while ago and it seems to be because the printer sometimes corrupts the data on the chip when writing information to it.
My remedy was to buy a chip resetter (It seems pointless that compatibles usually contain 19ml of ink but the Epson only thinks there is half of that, so a quick reset fixes it)0 -
I have been buying Epson compatibles from 7dayshop for several years and they have been fine until the last lot, which have lasted no time at all and have leaked. I won't be buying those again.
I also tried Cartridge World, as they had a shop near me - their compatibles were as expensive as the discounted Epson originals that I could buy by shopping around on the Net, so I gave up on them, too.
Have just got some arrived in last 30 mins from ink2u - so I'll be trying those out this afternoon and will post what I think later.0 -

If you let us know the details like what I put in the first post then I will edit it and add them in :j0 -
Hi
I Just bought a set of compatibles for my cx6600 the magenta was not recognised and the black is showing nearly empty despite only running 2 or 3 print jobs, mainly cleaning as the second replacement magenta is blocked.
They did send me 4 magenta cartridges free of charge - but whats the point in 4 magentas?? the colours also seem to be running out at an alarming rate.
Usually ive had good results with cheap ink but i dont think ill be shopping with Ink-redible again

I do a lot of printing and have never had any problems with the compatible ink cartridges from Inkredible.#Life isn't about waiting for the storms to pass, it's about learning to dance in the rain #We must be willing to let go of the life we planned so as to have the life that is waiting for us #If you focus on what you have left behind, you will never see what lies ahead - Gusteau/RatatouilleGC 2022: £0/£2,500 total spend0 -
I have just joined up for an ink club online, where you pay a monthly fee and they refil your cartridges as much as you want (subject to the usual fair usage policy kind of thing). You just send empties to them (great for the recycling bit), and they return a full set to you (would not be the same cartridges you sent)
They say fully chipped etc, I have a Canon Pixma. I am just awaiting the first batch to be returned, so I will let you know how they are
I will not post a link yet, as there is an introduce a member thing on the site, and I would not want this post to be deleted if someone thought I was doing that. But if you are ok with me linking the site I will
They also (for a £2 a month extra fee) will warranty your printer for it's life against breakdown etc. There are 10 kinds of people that understand binary
Those that do
Those that dont

i use inkredible as well - not had any problems - and their double capapcity ones last ages - well longer than proper ones! i had some off ebay, but they were'nt a patch on inkredible. i buy 4 sets at a time works out around £5 per set of 4.0 -
It would be helpful, when responding about different ink supply companies, including Ebay, to say which printer and which compatible cartridges you`re using.
Thank you.0 -

What kind of printer have you got? I have just checked their price for my HP PSC
(black compatible ink) and it is over £18 for 1. I don't call that cheap! Can't imagine them selling anything for £5 for a set. Curious.0
