Plse Recommend delivery service for large furniture

I hope this is the right board to post this. Please move if it isnt.
Im interested in buying 2 large and heavy pieces of furniture from ebay and was wondering if anyone could recommend any removal/delivery services. Ive done a search on here for similar posts but it has only come up with small items delivered by courier. The items are 2 countys away.
Is it better to order the delivery van from the county the furniture is in or the other way round?
Thanx for any advice or recommendations

  • Hiya, I think on ebay you can get a delivery service look at listings. Good luck.

    Two thoughts from me:-

Have you asked the sellers if they can recommend anyone?

Have you considered hiring a van and picking it up yourself?

depends how big - if you have to collect it, hire a van, and go pick it up - or if they are small enough, DHL, UPS, etc....

My courier delliver loads of large objects and including furniture at a very good price. The price is dependent on the weight alone so you would nee a rough idea of price. My friend just got 4 alloy wheels collected from an ebayers house and it only cost £16.00 inc vat. ( He was quoted £65 from ebay and other couriers ) .The company is called APC ( alternative parcel company) if you Pm me your postcode I will let you know the name of the local depot near you.The only one problem with them is you buy/ send to off mainland areas ie isle of man of ireland as they have large costs for ferrys but apart from that they are terrific.
I found the courier 2 years ago when I had a dining set delivered from ebay- I just simply asked the delivery guy what firm they were and how much they charged. Been very happy with them ever since and they have saved me a fortune.Do NOT use Parcel 2 go / DHL they are the coureirs from hell and dont even bother collecting the parcels half the time and if you do need to complain they are useless ( I learnt the hard way) .

    Thanx for all your suggestions.
I should have mentioned before that I cant drive so a delivery service is really my only option. I have seen the ones advertised on ebay but I wasnt sure about them really. I wouldnt mind a recommended one that someone has used.
