Only got half of my offer back

I hope Ive got the wright place to post this Im a bit unsure,,,, Natwest finally accepted that I am in financail hardship & sent me an offer for £2500.00 for my bank charges. I was over the moon & accepted the offer, unfortunatly when my cheque arrived It was for only half of the offer. I contacted them & was told that they would call me back. This was back in December 2009.
Can anyone advise me please?? I feel that its my money & want it back
