Can anyone help plz..
I wrote to Welcome in Oct 09 re my PPI, i enclosed a copy of my Original Credit Agreement from 2005 ( I still have this, I keep all Original docs just in case). The PPI on the car loan is clearing stated as PPI & is for £750. I asked for this back with interest at 8%. I was self Employed at the time & they knew this because they called my Accountant to verify my wage I paid myself. I have just recieved a letter from Welcome saying;

Final Response,
Having assessed our internal records & supporting documentation, I can confirm that you did not purchase PPI at the time of Application.
You have alleged mis-selling may have ocurred. This would involve the sale of a policy or policies that were not relevant to the person insured, or on which they were unable to claim. Our records show you did not purchase PPI cover and as a result, I am unable to concur that mis-selling has taken place.

Notwithstanding the above, if you have evidence on which you seek to rely, please forward this to me at the above address. On receipt of this I shall be happy to consider the matter further.

I sent them a copy again of my original gredit aggreement on the 15/2/2010 but still no responce....
HELPPPPPPPPPPPPP.. what am I to do now??

Hi there and welcome (oops no pun intended) lol.

Right, I would write back and give them 14 days to get back to you, tell them you do not believe your case was investigated properly, as you already enclosed details of the agreement which proves ppi was charged to the account.
Tell them if you do not receive a favourable response on investigation, then you will enclose all evidence you have and copies of their correspondence to the Financial ombudsman service (FOS) or even consider legal action.

Good luck, please keep us posted on this.;)

In regards to my above post, why don't you give the FOS a ring anyway here and explain your situation, tell them you have been ignored.

The FOS may offer to write on your behalf if you offer to submit your information to them, or request they do this for you.

So ring the FOS first and see what they suggest, here:
http://www.financial-ombudsman.org.uk/contact/index.html

May I ask what year you taken out this finance?
Cheers.

Hi,
Thank you for your advice.
I took the loan out in July 2005. and it plainly states on the green Credit Agreement I have right here next to the box that says PPI £739.14. This amount is also stated in a couple of other places on the agreement as its been added up in rows to give the loan amount.
Pretty straighforward, or so I thought as i have the original form!!!.

Hi there

It seems like they have not investigated your complaint at all!!

I would get in touch with the FOS first then and see what they suggest here, meanings WF have ignored you.
Do tell the FOS that, they may also require you to complete a complaints form as well, but do ask if they are able to chase WF up for you as well, hopefully they will soon shift and resolve this for you (especially a letter from the FOS on your behalf).

For more on how to complain, if the FOS suggest this here:
http://www.financial-ombudsman.org.uk/consumer/complaints.htm

You do have a good case here, so fingers crossed.

Just been on the phone to FOS regarding my PPI with Welcome Finance. The man I spoke to seemed to think I should have some paper work from the PP Insurance company!.. never know, never seen any!. he was unhelpful to say the least and made me feel like it was my fault for not reading the policy before I signed it!! How small can I feel!!! So what do I do now??

Hi there

Sorry to hear that.
I would ring back up and you should end up speaking to someone else, although you could email them if you want to, but it may take some time before you hear anything back from them.

They should be there to help and not knock you back, its not your fault at all, get back hold of them, its rare you speak to the same person, good luck.
The email details I have here is:
ppi.support@financial-ombudsman.org.uk
that's if of course if you want to email them direct on the ppi dept.

Fingers crossed.;)

:T After a phone call from Welcome Finance explaining they had been looking at the wrong loan details the lady who called me was really helpful and nice.... YES nice!! she said she would re look and let me know the out come asap. Letter recieved within the week saying that they would be sending me a cheque for £1131.52 if I accept.. Yes i accepted and now have a cheque clearing in my bank account.. Hurray.. Also my partner had a letter today from Citi bank saying they owe him £400. This came from only 2 letters, the first was a snotty no chance letter from Citi then after a further letter from my partner the offer arrived... More than he said he wanted in the letters!!...

Success will come... But I am v v v angry about Bank charges, I lost £7000!!!
