    Hi,
When we have been to Premier Inn, we have always paid when we checked in. I think they take card details on booking in case of a cancellation.

    Hi
Yeah, I'm the same, Premier inn is really good for that. Other chains like Travelodge, you have to pay for up front.

  • Yeah even if you get a £29 room that can't be cancelled they don't actually make the charge to your card till the day you arrive. So if you want at that point you could choose to pay cash or use another card or represent the original card. If you don't turn up on the £29 rooms they will charge you using the original card you booked with.

The normal price rooms kind of work in the same way but you can cancel the room before a certain time (sorry can't remember when) and they won't charge you, but if you just don't turn up they will use the original card you booked with.

definitely only charged when you pay on your arrival. Done it loads of times! Bear in mind if paying cash/leisure vouchers on the day you need id (passport, driving licence).
Mortgage free 04/03/2025. Thanks to this site and lots of overpayments bit by bit.

When i've stopped at Premier inn they take the payment when you check inn not when you make the reservation.
