Reclaiming PPI on Natwest Credit Card

Hi, I've had a Nat West Credit Card for about 12 years, and in all that time I've been paying PPI. I don't remember any discussion around signing up for it although there obviously was, but it was a long time ago. Its only by accident (someone in work mentioned it) that I've got on to this site and seen info about claiming it back. I dont have any of the original paperwork, and to be honest I'm a bit scared especially as I also have my mortgage with them. Has anyone had any success with reclaiming Credit Card PPI from Natwest for that length of time??? Thanks

Hi there.:)
It would help to have at least the account number, so if you can try to get hold of this, then that is good.
If this account is still active then they should be able to send you details.
I would therefore call in the branch if you have one nearby and ask if they would be kind enough to supply you with any of the details you require.
The only other way to retrieve information and if the account is still active - would be otherwise to request a Subject access request (SAR), they have 40 days to send everything they still hold on you, this is normally though the last 5/6 years, but then you may be lucky to actually receive info going back even to earlier years, I was with one of mine, different bank to yours though.
There is a cost of £10 postal order or cheque payment required for the SAR, template letter with details here:

Hopefully you will be lucky to receive all your information, but the account number helps, even if they only end up refunding you to the last 6 years, a bonus if they had all the info going back to 12 years where they may then refund you back to then.
Another way to check your account number would be statements if you still have these.
If the account is settled, but you have any old monthly statements, the acc number should be shown on them.
More on reclaiming, with guidelines, templates, a checklist of mis selling reasons and so on here:

They have 8 weeks in full to respond.
I would not let that worry you about the mortgage, they cannot discriminate you for reclaiming on your PPI, so try not to worry about that.
Good luck, hope this info helps, please keep us posted.
Cheers.
