average price for removals?

Anyone know what the average price is for a removals company?

we have a 4 bed home and an average amount of belongings.

    We just paid £1000 for packing and moving a 4 bed house about 40 miles, this is in S Wales.

    £600 for a 3-bed detached house, without packing.

    A decent local firm will do a free quote.

    £350 for moving contents of a 4 bed house (all in storage) into a rented house about 7 miles away. Though removal company has to travel about 20 miles to get to me. I always use the same removal firm. If anybody wants to know who they are pm me. I've been using same firm for donkeys years & they're quotes are always ridiculously cheap in my opinion. Last time I used them was 2.75 yrs ago (contents of 4 bed hse going into storage - £300). I'm in Essex I always do my own packing! And no, they're not friends or relatives. I was recommended to them many years ago & have been using them ever since.

    We had quotes that ranged from £600 to over a £1000. We were moving a 3 bed to a 4 bed, but we have LOADs of stuff... more than the average 4 bed, apparently!

    We've just received a quote for £300 to move a 3 bed house 27 miles. We don't have loads of stuff but the price includes 20 boxes and borrowing wardrobe boxes.
