Whatever you have to do to get out of debt, you have to do. Just make sure you look into the pros and cons of all options first - it took you a long time to get into the mess you are in, so a few more days spent considering things isn't going to hurt. Get on that phone to CCCS first thing tomorrow, making sure you have all your facts and figures handy - you will feel tons better just for talking to them, I promise you! And start mooching around other parts of this site, such as the Old style moneysaving forum for example - great for tips on living well on restricted incomes. One life - your life - live it!0

Thanks again mrscmr
My family aren't in a position to help me - and I have been keeping my situation quiet from them!
May have to confess if things go really badly, though."What does not kill me makes me stronger". Frederich Nietzsche, 1844-1900.0 -

Oh have I been there and done that? You know what? those that love you don't care, yeah they're a bit gobsmaked when you tell them but most families pull together in a crisis. My dad (god rest him) just shook his head, said bl**dy h*ll and how can I help ?!!
Don't let this get you down. The worst is behind you, you've done the hard bit and stared the realilty in the face. Forward from here, no looking back. You're doing grand.

Hi Ann - just a message of support really
As others have said you have made the hardest step and that is the first one :T :T :T well done
I know what you mean about telling family - you feel ashamed and that you have let them down - after their initial shock they will probably ask why didn't you tell them sooner !!!
One thing I will say is that now you have faced up to it and put everything down on paper, this will help loads when you ring CCCS in the morning - if you have all the information to hand they mostly put you straight through to a debt coucellor if they can - that way you will find out all your options as soon as possible
Good luck and chin up Pet - everyone here is routing for you now :T :T :T :T :TMr 3Dogs 3-7-12
