Hi all,
not sure if this is in the right place so moderators can move it if needed.
In a nutshell, I had my wallet stolen last Tuesday at a convience store. It had my debit cards, my credit card and my girlfriend's debit card. We reported them stolen straight away so the cards are blocked and we've got replacements. More importantly, my driving licence was in the wallet too, and when I contacted the police they said I should contact CIFAS to protect myself against ID fraud. I reported the theft via their website and so I thought that was the end of the matter.
Today, I got a letter through the post offering something called Protective Registration costing £12. I've never heard of it, so I wondered if anyone knew what it was. As far as I know, CIFAs entries are shown on my credit reports and that I was of the opinion that it was free.
Can anyone shead any light on this?
