I bet there's a Topsy and Tim one! Or the school nurse from Harry Potter? I can't think of any old fashioned stories that have them.

Could you tweek it a bit and let her go as a 'nurse-ery rhyme'?

Nick Sharratt's 'Ness the Nurse' is a lovely picture book for young children.

We are Ness the Nurse fans too.

Our boys came home with a note from Playschool which just says a "book character", thankfully, not necessarily a disney character, which we are happy about as our boys are wearing their Thomas and Roary dressing up outfits:)

It is supposed to be fairytale - most of those suggestions aren't fairytales, just children's books.

Does she have to go as a nurse??? Can't she go as Cinderella in rags that would be easy........ or doesn't she have a fairy outfit?
