I always buy them directly from the club. As do people I know. The price you pay depends on who you see - I pay £2 to see the local non-league side and my friend paid £25 to see a league two-ex premier league side.
They generally sell tickets to members first and then sell to the general public.Sealed pot challenge #232. Gold stars from Sue-UU - :staradmin :staradmin £75.29 banked

Try here http://www.arsenal.com/membership/buy-tickets it may help! Good luckKate

The sites offering you them for hundreds are probably either a scam or a rip off
You're also unlikely to get them through the club for a big game at the moment unless you have loyalty (ie have been to certain games this season) or some kind of membership which allows you to purchase from a ticket exchange. You may be in luck if you want to go to a midweek game against a smaller PL team (for example the wolves midweek game on their site), but given Arsenals current form and where they stand in the PL table i'd say you'd be very lucky without some kind of membership.
Your best bet would probably be to join a local supporters club (google arsenal supporters club and your local area) as they usually have the odd spare ticket floating around plus he'll probably get transport with them too, although he'd have to join the supporters club each season but would have access to tickets.
Or book with one of these dreaded things if it's for a one off: http://www.thomascooksport.com/Football/Premier-League/Arsenal
