Euro drops, pounds plummets below $1.48 for first time since May

The British pound dropped 1.8 percent to $1.4969 after sliding to $1.4784, the lowest level since May 1. The U.K. currency fell against all 16 of its most-traded counterparts, weakening 1.4 percent to 90.228 pence per euro.

    The £ didn't drop too much, as there's already a record number of short positions!

    Funny how the BBC never mention that Clown has already lost you 25% of your savings as the £ as slumped, and that's before you start accounting for the (spun) inflation figures.

    The prospect of Clown back in No.10 has spooked the markets. It's certainly made every wage earner feel sick! Benefit scroungers are too busy smoking weed to care.

    We live in 'interesting' times. The agony will continue for much longer of there is a hung Parliament. The markets are already reacting to the prospect. Nightmare scenario.

    Not good for our standard of living mainly based on imported products though...

    If the pound really drops as far as some people are predicting, parity with USD and below parity with EUR, I don't think people will be happy with the effect on many consumer goods.
