Need to moan a bit

Hi, hope no one minds but I need to have a moan to get things off my chest.
Sent my letters (drafts from cccs) to my 3 creditors. MBNA rang to say it had been declined but I expected that, I think others will too. I have cut back and cancelled DD's that I can live without, changed my mobile to save £15 per month and other smallish savings, my SOA changed to me only, not included DH on it so only very small amounts offered.
Having problems for 7 weeks with Poweregen, they changed our pre payment meter at beginning of June and said a new key would be ordered as the old one would'nt work, since then, I have rung about 8 or 9 times and they have had an emergency engineer out to put £5 credit on each time, Twice in one week even! Four times now they have said they will order a new key but its still in outer space somewhere cos it certainly isnt here. We are not allowed to call unless there is 50p or less left on meter. I called them yesterday, they said someone would call by 10pm so that means waiting in all day.No one turned up. At 8.15 this morning the electric ran out so another call to them. Sat all day with coffee withdrawals, came at 4.30pm, stress is not the word.
Thought I would clean the bedroom windows for something to do then I fell, grabbed the curtains and the lot came down and half the wall with it, great, so sit in living room, started raining, closed window - the handle came off in my hand, great. small grandson came with mum to see me, messing around and broke his big toe on my doorstep, great. OH came in at 5 and said 'Thought there d be a slap up meal waiting since you've been at hom all day Argggggg! Just waiting for this old computer to blow up and will finish me off.
Sorry for going on - do others have days like this or does someone up there really hate me?

Pattie

PS feel better now!

Yeah we have days like that - in the past 24 hours the car has died completely in the middle of the motorway (DH stuck in the heatwave for 5 and a half hours) and it's likely we'll have to buy a new one, and thanks to NTL the Net/TV/phone is only intermittent. I'm just waiting for the plague of locusts. Someone tried to cheer me up by pointing out there are now fewer things that can go wrong NEXT week.

    Have a hug :)
The ability of skinny old ladies to carry huge loads is phenomenal. An ant can carry one hundred times its own weight, but there is no known limit to the lifting power of the average tiny eighty-year-old Spanish peasant grandmother.

Oh dear, sorry to both posters - we have days like those too, or is that weeks?

Keeping the doors and windows shut for those locusts now:rotfl:

A good friend once told me once you are at rock bottom there is only one way to go - she was right, it just takes time - quite a lot of time, but time - try the mantra 'money comes easily to me' I have been trying all week, sure it will work soon;)

Seriously, thanks for reading my moan, sounds like you need hug too but don't know where to find the little wotsits, it must be in the air (or lack of it) today.

Hi Pattiemay, hope it works out for you those keys are a pain. My mum was waiting for one form British Gas, ages and ages she waited, eventually, i rang up, told them i had a new born baby in the house, could not wait until it got to 50p and I would ring the papers and go on watchdog. Report them to the ombudsman, that should get their !!!!!! in gear.

I've been wondering about that, one of the engineers that called said I sould report them to energywatch, I told that to one of the many people that eventually answer the phone at powergen and they said okay - go ahead. Who do you thindk is best to report them to as I also told them about my food in the fridge and freezer going off.
