We did the same. It was picked up from the house and back in 5 days - except they never repaired my son's console - they replaced it with a brand new one and a new 1 yr guarantee. It did cost us £80 though, for what we thought was going to be a repair. Microsoft said they decided to replace the console as repairing it would have taken too long!

if you knew what was broken about it, it would practically have been as cheap to buy a brand new arcade and get the 3 yr warranty, swapping over any harddrive etc.. £80 for a repair with just 1 year will probably turn out to be a false economy...

I was just missing Live for about a week and felt like my arm was cut off.. dreading the RROD! :rotfl:

if i had paid for this insurance and had the same delays i would drop my xbox on the floor and claim a new one.

Just tell them you were so excited you finally got your xbox box back when you were unpacking it you dropped it and dont work no more.

Microsoft pick up and send to Germany for repair - mine was only away for just over a week

i dropped mine off last wednesday and i got it back yesterday, it seems the console was too damaged to repair so they gave me a new 1 or at least a reconditioned one, had to do it twice now and been very pleased with the service
