Frugal Living Challenge: £534.64/150000 -
cant we get it banned by complaining to the adverts people ??
i will turn the radio off, change channels just to get away from the sodding adverts for this company.
even to the point of not using them , against MSE advice for insurance.
the meerkat ads are far better, and on facebook :-) / Comparethemeerkat

It is worrying that a man with his obvious talent can become 'famous' & earn better money in an annoying advert than by standing on a concert stage!I can cook and sew, make flowers grow.0

it may have worked for gocompare, but i wonder if it's damaged every other advertiser out there? i found that advert so annoying, i now no longer watch ANY tv adverts, period. as soon as they come on, i hit the mute button and change to bbc news channel.
that advert has done me a favour, by making my mind up, that when my cable subscription runs out, i won't be renewing, and i will be ditching the tv licence too and just moving completely to internet catchup tv.0 -
I do wonder if this is a popular time of year for insurance or something because I can't honestly believe that advert has worked.
And Jack - I think you still have to have a license for catch up?Bump due 22nd September0 -
It's certainly annoying, but I'm not surprised it works.
The advert is aimed at people who use price comparison websites, trying to get them to use this particular website.
The advert needs to inform this target audience what the website does.
And it needs to inform these people how to find the website.
In this instance, both of the requirements above can be achieved with two words - "Go Compare". That's it. It sums up what they do and how you find them.
All the advert needs to do, then, is repeat those words as many times as possible. They have certainly found a memorable way to do that.
I think the same principle applies to the radio advert I hate most at the moment - "We buy any car dot com". Again, it tells us everything we need to know in those few words which they repeat over and over again.0 -
