I've got a nokia 6230i which will pair with other phones so I know the bluetooth works.
I want to connect to my computer, but now I've followed all the instructions in pc suite, it seems I need something on my computer to enable it,
Does anyone know what I need please?
( The comp says it's not supported and I should check hardware etc.)

I use a USB dongle.
My computer is already bluetooth enabled though.
That's as much as I can tell you but I'm sure someone else will know more.de do-do-do, de dar-dar-dar0 -
We use a USB bluetooth dongle (got from Ebay) along with bluetooth software came with dongle, so far works with 2 Erickson phones and one Motorola.0

You also need to make sure you have the right version of Nokia PC suite. You can get all versions at http://www.nokia.co.uk/nokia/0,,72026,00.html

I have a 6230i with a 512Mb card I use for music. While I've got a bluetooth dongle installed on the desktop (MSI brand, and Win XP SP2 recognises it automatically), and built in bluetooth with my laptop, I usually copy music using a Nokia data cable (DKU-2 from memory) which I got from ebay for about £4 as it's miles faster to copy large data. Bluetooth good for syncing contacts to Outlook for example, but too slow for big stuff.0

I soemtime take the sony memory stick out of k50i and insert it into a card reader and copy tunes ect that way. I did use a data cable for an old Nokio and motorola usb cable but I dont like using cables as it can be fiddle and pins can get bent, thats why I prefer bluetooth or using a card reader/writer0

I know this thread is a few months old but I too am pulling my hair out trying to get my Nokia 6310i to connect to my pc.
I have loaded a bluetooth dongle and can connected my phone to pc via that software but cannot do anything. When I go to connect via Nokia suite from pc to phone it gives me about 14 ports to choose from. Found that port 5 (whatever that means) will connect everytime for a couple of seconds then disconnect. It is as if something keeps breaking the connection because I haven't allowed it access but don't know what to do.
I am at my wits end and now going to sleep.
Hope somebody can help.
Cheers Lawnmower Man.
ps also disabled all firewalls but still the same.0
