Any experience of living in Freemantle in Southampton?

Thank you in advance for anyone's thoughts and opinions on this area. Am considering moving there but don't know the area well.

I live the other side of the City so don't know Freemantle well. When I worked for the City Council 30 years ago it was the prime area for people doing car repairs out of sheds without planning permission. Don't know whether this is still the case but it is always worth checking the immediate neighbourhood for non-residential activities.
It is walkable to the City Centre and the train station so that's a perk.RICHARD WEBSTER
