Tesco mobile coverage

Did search for this but couldn't find any other responses....
Does anyone know if tesco mobile has good coverage in Northern Ireland. I am in Lisburn area and was thinking of getting a tesco mobile but I would be concerned that I would forever be out of reception if I did.
Does anyone have any good/bad experiences with Tesco Mobile?
thanks in advance

I think that the Tesco mobile network works off the back of the O2 network - so my logic would be if the O2 network is ok in your area then the Tesco mobile one should be too!
One thing to watch out for - when I changed to an iphone I noticed a big difference in reception in my house - I went from having about 80% (4 out of 5 bars on my Nokia E51) to about 20 - 40% on my iphone. Looking on the internet it seems that a few people have complained about the ability of the iphone to pick up the mobile signal.
If anyone you know has an iphone on Tesco or O2, might be worthwhile having a run around your house/area with it to see what the signal is like.Regards, Robin.2011 MFW # 34

i thought that also that tesco used o2's masts etc, so if o2 is good for you or anyone you know then tesco should be too. both my parents are on tesco and they seem to have good signal most of the time, im on orange and find it very hard to get signal in at my gf's in lambeg, yet she on her o2 phone has full signal.0

Thanks RTNI I had thought I had read a while ago that it was linked to O2 which I am actually on at the minute. But wasn't sure if that was still applicable as it seems ages ago now.
I have asked around and no one I know seems to have or even know anyone that has a Tesco mobile simcard. I was going to buy a pay as you go sim card to test but then was unsure as to whether it would work in my phone.
Might just bite the bullet then and give it a whirl. At least I wouldn't be out a fortune and wouldn't be stuck if I decided not to renew my contract with O2 afterall.0 -

thanks - I find that in my kitchen and living room I get a low signal but the rest of the house is fine with o2 but at the moment I am using a really old slidy nokia phone which could be part of the problem too. Which hopefully I will be changing soon.

also if you get a tesco pay as you go sim at the moment they are doing triple top ups, ie you put £10 on your phone (minimum) and you get £30 credit, or £20 on your phone you get £60 etc. so would even be worth sticking a tenner in to try it out then youl have a phone with £30 worth of minutes or texts or whatever you use it for.0

I use a Tesco Sim. It uses the O2 network. PAYG is very good value (triple credit) and clubcard points on every top-up. You also get half price calls to 5 favorite numbers, just register the numbers free using your mobile or online.0

Not in the Lisburn area but in Carrick area, I use Tesco PAYG and the reception in the house is rubbish, it works fine outside, I called the tesco helpline about this and they told me that they use the O2 network, they said the problem maybe with my SIM card or my phone, but why does it work fine outside???0

Aerial or weak signal. Use it against a window inside0

thanks everyone - I ordered a free pay as you go sim online yesterday and when it comes through I'll stick a tenner on it and give it a whirl - no real harm done at the end of the day if its awful.
If I remember (heads like a sieve) then ill post on here how i get on incae anyone else needs to know.
