Will current c/card give new deal or should i apply elsewhere?

I need to make a largish purchase and rather than take out a loan with a high interest rate i'd rather put on a 0% credit card as I know i can pay the full amount off in the 12 months by paying what I would on the loan etc

I have a halifax credit card that ive used for about 2 years but its a normal high rate (i pay off every month)

If I called them what are the chances of them doing a 0% deal for me to retain me rather than me apply elsewhere?

I can apply elsewhere but if the Hfx would do it it would be much easier!

Didn't know if they do these for new customers only

You can try with Halifax but I would anticipate your chances being limited. Please report back though, would be useful to know either way.

Advertised rates are for new customers, no harm in asking though
