no the recipe didnt call for it just steak, onions, potatoes, turnip and salt and pepper??

I tend to use lamb mince, potatoes, carrots and onions if I'm making pasties (yeah, I know that isn't the real cornish!), the extra fat makes it nice and moist on the inside.

The recipe I have says add two and a half fluid ounces of water to make the gravy, more if you can.

Hi all,

I want to make some Cornish Pasties later. Does anybody know what I can use instead of "skirt of beef". My local ASDA does not stock that cut.

You can use lean braising steak instead of skirt of beef.

I saw skirt of beef in Waitrose last week, labelled 'forgotten cuts', it was cheaper than other cuts.
