Small loan to buy a horse

Stable costs are a min of 50 a week, between 5-7k a year are the 'running costs'
You would be best to save up to buy the animal in the first place, then just treat the running costs as a hobby.
Put aside 150 a week for 20 weeks, just like the same money as the running costs.0 -
Not being rude, but i did not ask for running costs - i know what the running costs are as i currently have a horse on loan and pay for everything but the insurance. Plus, my stable costs are only £80 per calender month.0

£80 a month for stable costs is extortionate!!!!!
If you love horses so much why does it have to be an expencive one? You can get a good all round plod for about £500, get a good section D or somthing and get some cheaper housing. The only reason I would spend that much on a horse would be if I was going international with it.Work like you don't need money,Love like you've never been hurt,And dance like no one's watchingSave the cheerleader, save the world!0 -
Ok, didn't come on here to get judged! Came on because the main website is really good. Sadly i will not be returning and have still not really received any useful advice.0

Well I did my best to give you some practical considerations in post #6 while you decide whether you're going for a loan or a credit card. The ability of skinny old ladies to carry huge loads is phenomenal. An ant can carry one hundred times its own weight, but there is no known limit to the lifting power of the average tiny eighty-year-old Spanish peasant grandmother.0

I'm sorry you feel that way horseless but I can understand your frustration when asking about a loan and not getting the answers regarding a loan.
As far as I see it, the OP has done her homework and is prepared for the costs involved. Hopefully someone will come along with some loan advice such as wigginsmum has given regarding APRs etc.0 -
Sorry wigginsmum, didn't mean you!
I have been through all the costs involved in great detail and am just looking at how to raise the initial purchase price. Am considering Northern Rock as they have the lowest apr.0 -
A loan would be over a fixed period of time with fixed amounts so you'd know as long as you paid monthly, your debt would be going down. If you put it on a card, it would be very easy to put other stuff on a card and gain yourself a neverending balance to pay off.The ability of skinny old ladies to carry huge loads is phenomenal. Have just got a new job and paid off all debts so have decided now is the time to buy my own horse.
I think i need between £2500 and £3000 to buy the horse and pay any initial costs.
Can anyone recommend the best loan or is there another way to get the money and pay back the least possible!
Cheers
Have you considered getting a smart car? Martin Lewis drives one (he said so on the telly)
They are much easier to park then a horse. Ocourse, petrol is more expensive than hey, but its really not worth the hassle, is it?0 -
Is it a racehorse ?0
