Can anyone help

I have wrote to Halifax, asking for a copy of 2 loan agreements i used to have, they have sent me 1 but say they are unable to obtain the other one ! So where do i go from here ? (but somehow they have worked out what PPI i have paid ) !

Also the agreement they did send me was in joint names with my ex husband, they have agreed to pay up but have sent me half the amount due, an stated they are unable to track my ex down, i do not know his wereabouts. Is this right ?

    Hi there

did you pay £1 each for these agreements or did they supply the one free of charge?

Just as long as you have an account number then you can continue to make a reclaim, they do obviously have some information as it seems.

However, another way to retrieve all they hold on you is to request a Subject Access Request (SAR) they have 40 days to comply and send all they have on you, but there is a charge of £10 postal order or cheque payment for this request.
More here with SAR template letter:

I am not sure what happens though in regards of your EX, hopefully someone will have some useful answers here for you, good luck with this.

    Please keep us posted, cheers.

Was the loan in joint names? Sometimes if they are in joint names only the first named person is covered by the insurance.

Sending for a SAR when an account is in joint names generally needs both to sign the SAR otherwise they would omit all information pertaining to one person.

Yes forgot to mention that bit.
With me and hubby it was the case of (if we both requested for a SAR) some would accept as one as long as 2 signs, or some separately.

The PPI though even though we were joint was always in his name and did not cover for myself.
