Which Slow Cooker & Why?

As the title says which would you buy and why please since i'm thinking of becoming a Slow Cooker convertee even though i've never used one before.

Or any other surgestions as to which ones are best or cheapest place to buy from?

    I just happened to be in this board and noticed your thread. Over in Old style, there is an existing thread on which slow cooker and why which would certainly give you some good input from others as well.

    Also, there is the complete slow cooker collection which should give you loads of threads to browse , so you can find out different recipes, methods and suggestions.

    ive got a round crock pot. i like it because of the look, the fact that i can use the crock pot on the hob and in the oven separate to the heating element and it works fine for me

    I guess they are much the sameness if I get a 6.5L Slow Cookers with just the 3 settings.
    Only difference being price and Watts?
    And as for the timer plug idea sounds far more logical and saves on the price

    every sunday my boss makes up 2 slow cookers with cassarole or stew etc for every one at work one is a really old 6.5 litre white one wont know the brand till i look next week the other is a recently bought cookworks 6.5 last week one of the lads carried it downstairs to the table as usual only this time it didnt make it the handle came off and the hot full pot hit the floor (thankfully landing upright so we only lost half the food)he was left standing with the handle in his hand ! thanks zippychick will read that thread before i go get a new one x
