Do i have to sell the item

Recently sold a baby walker on Ebay as it was no longer used, 99p start no reserve. Well it sold quite well went for more than I had expected at £16ish. Anyway the winning bidder didn't pay at the end of the auction. I contacted them the next day and still no reply, and the next day no reply. Each day with no reply until this morning I filled a Non-paying dispute, and within 5 minutes of filling the dispute the bidder paid but still no contact or explanation.

TBH I don't really want to continue as I think the buyer is going to either claim non delivery (not really possible as it will be sent via DHL) or item not described (again hard as the item is like brand new). The buyer has !!!!!! me about and made me wait 5 days before making payment and I just don't trust them anymore nor do I think I should let them have the walker which is in excellent condition for them to mess me about, I would rather offer it on second chance.

Whats my options....

P.S I'm having a clear out over the last two weeks and it appears every prat on ebay has come out to play either bidding then asking for it to be cancelled, bidding and not paying, bidding and not paying until a dispute is filled, bidding on a collection only item and winning then realising they are 400 miles away.......!!!!!! is wrong with these people.
Everyones opinion is the most important.....no wonder nothing is ever agreed on.

    Quite simple really.

They have paid so you send it.

Only to the address showing as verified by PayPal and tracked, via DHL as you stated.

Buyers still have 4 days to pay and because one was a day late does not make them a scammer.

If you decide to offer the item as a 2nd chance then the buyer can, quite rightly, open a NPS case against you.

I'm not implying they are a scammer just a waste of time, they bid in the last 3 minutes of the auction so were clearly online at the end.
I just don't get why people have to bid then wait until a claim is filed before actually paying. I have also contacted them several times and once again within minutes of the payment being received and they have not replied once, its just ignorance and damn rude.
If you went to a proper auction house you have to pay straight after winning.
My biggest bugbear is when they click a buy it now then make you wait days for the payment.

It's quite possible they bid on it and just forgot about paying for it, not everyone checks there emails every day :)

I've bid on something, and for some reason forgot to go through the process of paying, so used to paying for something immediately.
  • Ah we all have to put up with this occasionally - BUT send it, just make sure it's tracked and to be fair these are usually the buyers you never hear from but do give a nice feedback after. Some people just don't like communicating it seems?!?

Don't forget its the start of a new month - maybe they were waiting for their wages to go into their bank account?

I have a small business on eBay and know how frustrating it can be. Unfortunately some people don't have the same manners as the rest of us, and wouldn't even think to send a quick message to let you know they have a problem!!

You can set BIN for immediate payment required. I sometimes if i'm bidding a weekend will wait untill the sunday before I pay so anything won on a friday would have waited 3 days. I'm afraid if you want immediate payment you either list all as BIN or sell in small ads/gumtree. Ebay give 4 days before a seller can do anything so thats what buyers get.
  • Actually i went into hosp a few weeks back and when i got out saw an unpaid item case against me - i was a little baffled as i thought i had paid for everything (i buy too much, lol) but turns out this seller somehow doesn't include their items in 'Pay all buyers at once' checkout thing so i had missed it. I appologised but they were ok about it - could have slipped up there and ended up with a NPB strike which is completely unlike me!!!

You guys are probably right, I'm just annoyed at the ignorance of some people. Most of the stuff on my business account is fine and 99% of transactions go smoothly. I always find when clearing personal stuff all the knob heads come out to play. I have arranged for it to be collected tomorrow so buyer should receive it Thursday.

Cyberbob on my business account I have set up immediate payment for BIN you would have thought it would be standard setup though and not something you would have to activate so to speak.
