convecter heater running costs

I'll apologise for whats proberly a silly question.I have some wall mounted 500watt convecter heaters,I'm really pleased with them as they warm a room quickly. The control dail goes from 2 to 8.I pay 10p per k watt
My silly question is if it was really cold and I turned the dail up full to num 8 would it still cost no more than 5p an hour. Most of the time I have them on no 4 which seems fine.
I know the thermostat knocks them on and off so they don't run for the full hour but if one did on full power I just want to check it wouldn't cost more than 5p.

That's right. A 500w heater will use 500w an hour if on constantly. As you said the thermostat knocks it on and off so usually uses less. But it cannot use more. If you want to check it's actual costs try a plug in monitor with it.0

You really should have chosen a heater where the dial goes up to 11. Its ideal when you need that little extra heat.
I'll get me coat! That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -
Thank you, just needed to see it in black and white,I can turn them up now if need be without worrying too much.0

It is obvious that when you turn the heater up it will use more energy0
