  • Hi All can i pick your brains over a work issue? not sure if anybody can help but thought i`d try, We`ve been told that we have got to start working shifts up until 10pm & also to start working weekends which we haven`t done in over 3 yrs. Is that legal? We`ve had no proper consultation on a brief meeting with our area manager where we voiced our opinion of not wanting to do it.

    Anybody help???

I second beanie Sally, if you don't feel well text work and tell them, not worth making yourself worse struggling to go in.

well Jasmin gave up on the knitting, the wool kept jumping off the needles:) so no more sewing for me today :)

Nathan saw some cracking wool on ebay called eyelash yarn for the knitting machine, would have made cracking scarves, but they were getting bid to £10+ i cannot afford that :(

what does your original contract state?

  • my original contract states no actual hours it says evening`s, weekends, which were not really disputing, its more the way its been done.(long shift patterns, office based working)
Should we have been given an actual consultation period to something that not even the unions have agreed to happening?

I think you may struggle to fight it if you've got evenings and weekends in your contract  Just because you haven't worked them for a while doesn't alter your contract, in my opinion
