If your mother really wants to borrow from them, would she be willing to borrow from Provident instead of Greenwoods?
I ask because Provident loans are slightly cheaper then Greenwoods.
As for what happens next, an agent will come round with some paperwork, I don't think it will be the loan agreement if your mother is a first time customer. Once the form is filled out (your mother will need her Natonal Insurance number) then the agent will go away and sort out the loan. it may well be that since your mother asked for a loan, if she has given them details such as her N.I number and D.O.B. then the credit check may already have been done. When the agent returns with the loan agreement and the money, they should go through all the details on the agreement, how much the loan is for, the total amount repayable, the amount charged for credit and the APR (it may not be in that order but they are meant to do that before the customer signs.)
Once you mother has agreed all is ok and signed the agreement, the agent will then give her the top copy and the bottom copy of the agreement and of course the money.
Your mother has 7 days to change her mind and cancel the loan.
The Agent is not allowed to take a payment on the day the agreement is signed.
7 days after the signing then an agent will call at your mothers address, usually with a payment book, for the first installment.

OP - No Credit Check, as I believe.

Vouchers are better value, if you can get them. Maybe use the vouchers for shopping and use the cash you would normally use on shopping for something else?

Ive had a problem recently, which i have posted here, but apart from that, I would deal with them again. Just not for cash, because the charges for cash are terrible:

my husband is an agent for greenwoods, he would call out to a new customer and they would need to fill in some paperwork, the info i think he needs is national insurance number, id eg. passport, driving licence. he would then phone and do an svc check i think it's called and they tell him whether its ok to go ahead. the following day he would call back with the loan agreement and issue the loan to the customer.

these loans are not value for money by no means but they are some peoples only option and they find it easier to pay back say £10 per week. If you need any more info just ask and i'll ask the hubby.
