Renting and credit/employment checks...

Hello,
me and my OH are looking to move next month for something cheaper to put an end to my debt a bit quicker. I was just checking though that my situation wouldn't hurt our renting chances. We rent at the moment but this was before I decided to go with CCCS. I have no idea what my credit rating is. It was excellent before apparently but as I had to miss payments while the CCCS plan was being set up I expect it has dented it. Will this go against me?
Also, I handed my notice in at work last week (I know, I know, I should've found a job first but I've been coming home crying for the past 6 months and it all just got the better of me) and have 2 weeks left to work (I am currently doing interviews and if all else fails I'll do some agency/temp work to keep me going). We'd be looking to put down a deposit this or next week so I will technically still be in employment and do not foresee any gaps at all. However, just wondered if letting agents are concerned by things like this. We have NEVER missed any rent payments, have had excellent references from past landlords and have been told by our current agency that we are "model" tenants (and they even offred me a job!).
Phew - any help appreciated - panic strting to set in over whether I'll screw it up for both of us.

when we rented our apartment we had to have credit checks... and i ahte to be teh bringer of abd news... but my g/f doesnt work, and they said that as she had no job theywould discount her when looking at the rent etc. this means if they look at ur other halfs credit rating and then decide he couldnt afford to pay all of the rent and what they presume the billls etc would be then they will say no. we were lucky in that my wage means she doesn't have to work, but it wa a scarey few days.saving for more holidays0

Thank you flybynight. I mean, I'm hoping that I won't have any gap in my employment so hopefully that shouldn't be an issue. The credit check might be though. Maybe we'll just have to stay where we are then. That would be a shame as I'm trying to go somewhere cheaper to pay more off on debt.
*sigh* only time will tell I suppose.0
