I thought id switch gas supply from Scottish Power to N Power in September only since then I havent received a bill from anyone and I am still receiving gas. No one has read the meter and Im not sure what to do if anything ? If I call one of them will they not just land me with a big bill ?
Has anyone experienced this before or do they have any sensible advice ?

Take your own meter readings easy to do, ring them up and give them to SP and ask for a bill

Ring them and give meter readings, ask for a bill. It is no use putting it off as you will need to pay for what you have used.If winter comes, can spring be far behind?
Spring begins on 21st March.0 -
They only have to read you meter every 2 years, but most dont
Its best to keep on top of bills0 -
If you do nothing you just end up with an even LARGER BILL:eek: better get it over with now while its managable...:)#6 of the SKI-ers Club :j

A lot of npower tariffs are on a 6 monthly billing cycle (if you pay by DD), so depending on your local meter reading dates it is possible that a bill will be with you shortly. But a short phone call to npower will tell you what your bill dates are.money4nuffin wrote: »I thought id switch gas supply from Scottish Power to N Power in September only since then I havent received a bill from anyone and I am still receiving gas. On the second point, you have used the gas so are going to get a bill sooner or later so best sort it out now.0 -
Thanks all , i will call SP tomorrow and see what they say. I was set up on DD but cancelled it as I thought Npower were taking over ( this was all handled by an energy broker) its strange how they have not billed or contacted me for payment if I am still their customer ?
Good advice tho dont want a huuuuuge bill ! I will tackle it.0 -
When you provide a meter reading, you should speak to a person (as opposed to leaving the meter reading on an automated service) so they can give you the balance straight away (or explain in more detail if there is a problem). Should be able to also get you set up on another DD to spread the balance out
