Sound problem in new Samsung TV

Hi my husband bought a new flat screen Samsung series 6 tv a few weeks ago from amazon.
The problem is after about an hours viewing the sound goes very buzzy, we get our TV via sky as we dont have a signal here.
I contacted Samsung who said to do a diagnostic test to see if it was the TV at fault, which it seems that it isnt, and she said our next solution was to change the Scart cable.
Does anyone here know if this sounds like a reasonable solution to the problem or can they recommend a scart cable brand etc that will be the best to solve the problem?
Many thanks
Elmer

I think since the fault develops after time, it's unlikely to be the cable. Any bog standard scart cable should do the job if you want to get a replacement though, should only cost a couple of quid.
Do you have any other TVs you can use? If you plug a different one into the Sky box and still get the same problem, then the issue is likely to be the Sky box itself. If the other TV is fine then I'd be getting back on to Samsung and complaining.0 -
Darksun is correct, the first thing to do is eliminate the scart as a source of the problem, though 30 minutes in suggests it's not the problem do it anyway, replacing it temporarily with one borrowed from the lady next door will prove it either way.
Does you Sky box have an HDMi output ?, if it does it's many magnitudes better than a scart ? and your new tele will certainly have a HDMi input, have a look ?
A badly ' kinked ' scart cable can ' heat up ' behind a tele and twist out slightly !
Last point : prove it - when after 30 mins the sound goes, pull the scart out of (1) the sky box and (2) the back of the set. Does pulling and re-inserting solve the problem ?Disclaimer : Everything I write on this forum is my opinion. A faulty cable can manifest many symptoms over time, just swop it out to see. HDMI is the best and unless you have Sky HD then you only have scart.0
