in Credit cards
Hi guys, I realise I may ask some pretty simple questions, but I just need a bit of help. No-one in my family has ever had a credit card hence the fact I no nothing much of them. Ok so, my husband and I have decided we need to get a credit card. But say for example we get one with a £2000 maximum and we spend it all in a weekend do we pay the £2000 monthy until its all paid off, or is that something we discuss with the credit card company (how much to pay a month) And also if we spend up to the maximum on the card, it gets topped up again right? So we spend max, pay it all off and we can spend again?
Im really sorry everyone, I realise these are silly questions, but I just want to know what I am dealing with.
Thankyou in advance.

There is a minimum payment each month that varies from card to card. For instance the Santander Zero card is 2.25% of the balance. Others may be 2% or 3%.
If you exceeded a £2000 limit ( and you might struggle to get that limit on a first card) you would be charged a fee.
It is obviously best to pay off the full balance each month so you never have to pay any interest. However if you, say, spend the £2000 then pay back £400 you would be able to spend up to the limit again, subject to taking account of whatever interest was added on.
Hope that makes sense.0
