Hi,
Can anyone help......the situation is that I am currently paying £35.00 a month with British Gas which I am currently in credit & for the electric I am paying roughly £30.00 a month with a prepayment meter which is with London Energy.
I am looking to switch but am unsure about the prepayment meter because I rent the property and am not sure where I stand on the issue and if I change will it really be any cheaper?
I look forward to your advice.
Kindest Regards,
Rich87

Hiya, I think you are doing quite well @ £65 a month for both fuels.
I would be tempted to leave well alone and look into switching things off to save on electric. Could you insulate your flat any more with draft excluders or thicker curtains? If winter comes, can spring be far behind?
Spring begins on 21st March.0 -
If that is your traditional regional supplier you could easily be paying 25% or more than you would be with a different tariff. (You can follow Julie's advice in addition to switching - I've no idea why you should leave things alone.)
You can check the comparison sites for different tariffs without changing the meters - ensure you choose the correct payment types for comparison purposes.
If you want to change any of the meters then you should ask the landlord - you don't need their permission but they could charge you to restore them back when you leave. But you can still just look at different tariffs without changing the meters.0
