Stair Nosing

Can anyone help, I have a laminate wood flooring being put down next week on my landing. At a later date I will be having a stair runner up the stairs which will meet up with the laminate flooring. I will need a Nosing to fit laminate on top, and carpet other side. Fitter says he may not be able to get one ( surprised me ) so anyone out there know where I can get one as I am sure I am not the only person in the world to have laminate meeting carpet.

bad idea laminate at top of stairs, bit dangerous. what brand of floor are you using

Cant remember make but very expensive and not smooth or slippery, we have laminate in other rooms which is slippery so purposely chose none slippery. What about a Nosing?

Won't say any more about it apart from this, all laminate is slippery with socks/stockings on which is often how people walk about upstairs, I fit floors for a living and will not fit laminate where it meets the stairs as it really is very risky and I wouldn't want a fall on my conscience. Turning to go down the stairs with socks on on laminate is an accident waiting to happen. Thats all I will say.

Having said that Quickstep manufacture a metal nosing in a range of finishes that clicks into their flooring and has a virtually flush finish, whether it will work with others I dont know It is pricey at around £45 for a 2400mm length so on an average staircase you will need 5 lengths to do the treads. Google "Quickstep nosing" and you should find something
