Hullo my gorgeous people.
My motherboard has gone in the kids PC, but I don't have a clue about buying one. Can anyone recommend what I should be looking for or any good sites?
This is the PC and specs http://www.reevoo.com/p/ei-systems-ei-403#product-features-tab
We were told to get this because its like for like but wanted to make sure there isn't anything better for the money or even cheaper.

Might be cheaper to get a new pc rather than bothering with a new MoBO.
If you must then its ebuyer, microdirect and a small outlet in Coventry (who are online) called eclipse computers.
Gigabyte or Asus are my recommended makes.
If its a pc you want, get something decent Dell in my book.0 -
Not looking at getting a whole new PC if the part can be done for £35, its only for the kids to pig about on.
Problem is I don't know the first thing about motherboards, I don't have a clue which ones are compatible or anything.
Have PM'd Browntoa to move my thread.Work like you don't need money,Love like you've never been hurt,And dance like no one's watchingSave the cheerleader, save the world!0 -
Exactly if you do not know about motherboards, its best you find someone who does.
As a start you need to ensure you get the right type to fit the existing case and then have some nifty fingers to do all the work. One scratch, you will be looking for another one. Decent motherboards cost £60 upwards imho.0 -

That's why I (tried) posted on the on techie board, they've never steered me wrong yet.
Fitting it isn't a problem.Work like you don't need money,Love like you've never been hurt,And dance like no one's watchingSave the cheerleader, save the world!0 -
Well work out what type you have at the moment, mini ATX or ATX - and get a similar one to replace it. Google it.
Saying that, never had a motherboard go wonky and I have built computers for myself in past. Worth checking if its not one of the other components which is knackered. Link to eclipse here.0 -
Well , are you sure it is the m/board that is faulty?
If that is the case then you won't get a m/b much under £30.
@Oneaday "Might be cheaper to get a new pc rather than bothering with a new MoBO" - absolute rubbish.
"Decent motherboards cost £60 upwards imho" - disagree again.
That m/b you linked to will fit that case as it looks normal midi size , not a super small thing. You will get a manual with the m/b to explain connections etc.0
