Ok my mums work is chucking out a load of good quality PCs because they have recently got some even better ones and my mum is going to try and get one. I think they are keeping the screens soo..:
My laptop has a plug for a monitor, e.g so you can connect a projector to it. But is it possible to connect another PC to my laptop and use my laptop screen as the screen for the other computer?:o

Not really.
At least not the way you are thinking. The plug on your laptop for projectors etc is outwards only, so you could have 2 monitors running from 1 PC, but not 2 PCs running on 1 monitor.
You could network the PCs together and then use some remote control software to view the screen image from the other PC on your laptop.
If the new PC is XP, use remote desktop, (free, quick and reliable). Otherwise use something like WINVNC.
You could always buy another monitor, try https://www.aria.co.uk0 -
Thanks, sounds a bit complicated, I was thinking of running Vista on it as I have a laptop that I dont want to mess up, I might see if my mum can get a monitor aswell

Just in case anyone in N. Ireland is looking for a monitor....
I've got a 17" Samsung Syncmaster CRT going begging for nowt. Just bought a 19" TFT from Dabs, so no longer need it. I'm in Belfast, so can be picked up there, or if anyone wants, I can give you an address in Newry to pick it up from.
PM me for details.
edit: Already gone to a fellow MSE'r.
