Well I feel a total fool
I have been an idiot ordered a diet hamper from this company who are now telling me I have committed to buying a hamper every 2 weeks for the next 20 weeks and I can't cancel the contract. Its very expensive and the food is awful.
The website suggests it about £7ish a day for all your food to be provided but they don't tell you there are extra things you need to buy on top of that. Also they only supply the food every day for the first half of the programme (10 weeks) and in the second half (another 10 weeks) you are charged the same amount for 4 days food a week and given recipies for the other three which you have to buy yourself!!
I have written to them by email today telling them I want to cancel the contract (this is within 7 working days of ordering it) but they never sent me an actual written contract as it was done over the phone.
I have not signed anything but have made the first payment by credit card (as it was over £100).
Having read the Distance Selling Regulations it appears food contracts are exempt?
I have only received a fortnights worth of the food and am not due to receive any more of it for a week.
Can anyone help please?

Quick update -
I've had a reply to my cancellation email which just asks me what the problem is and how can they resolve it. I've replied back saying that the high oil levels in the food are causing me problems with my digestion which is true.
They haven't given any other information in the email but just suggested that they will call me at an appropriate time for a chat.0 -
you seem not to have realised the length of time you would be committed to this, why is that?0

it wasn't stated anywhere on the website and to be honest it wasn't really made clear in the telephone conversation - just glossed passed by the sales girl and I didn't pick up on the significance of it.0 -
what site was it?0

Further update - I've had a call from the company today, they went through all the reasons I wasn't happy and they have finally said they will cancel the programme and send me a cheque for the remainder of the first month's fee - success!
Now, what to do with a box of horrid diet food?...0 -
So what company was it?0
