Disney Dilemma!

I have already searched the forums but would appreciate some input.

I want to use my Tesco vouchers to pay towards a trip to Disneyland Paris at Ocotber half term.

I have looked at the prices on the Cresta website   and even with around £400 worth of vouchers, it would cost way too much.

Then I looked at leger.co.uk but according to the small print, you can only use tesco vouchers on coach holidays. I am not overly keen as it will be a good 5 hours from oop north to Dover and then there will be another coach journey from Calais to Disney. The advantage to this holiday is that we stay in a Disney hotel and can get into the park early to have breakfast etc.

My other option is to use some vouchers to pay for Eurostar to Paris (can't use tesco to get to Disney  ) and then book hotel and park tickets separately. I think I can do it for around the same price as the extra on the coach holiday would cost me or thereabouts (£350). The Holiday Inn looks nice, but we could go for one of the cheaper options.

My dilemma is this - would we be missing out by not staying at a Disney hotel and is staying "in the magic" worth the potential hell of a very long coach journey with a 4yr old and a 6yr old? Also, we would get 2 days in the park but would have to leave at 6.00pm on the second day to travel back.

Has anyone done this by coach before - how was it? Also - how much does it cost to get from Paris to Chessy?

Please help - I am all confused - look  !!

We stayed at the Holiday Inn and it was fabulous, it had free tranport to/from the park which you can also use after coming of the eurostar. A friend stayed at the Disneyland Hotel paid a fortune and was put right at the side on a low floor, did not get a good view and was not really impressed. The Movenpick Dream Castle hotel is lovely too.

Well we have been to disney 3 times now in 10 months..twice self drive and the third time Eurostar. We have stayed in Hotels outside Disney everytime and have had a cheap holiday. We went the last weekend in June this year and it was too hot..The park was open 9am till 11pm and your stuck there all day.If we were to go again I said I want to save up and stay in a Disney hotel. When it's red hot or raining etc at least you can go back to your room for a short while. If you can afford it go for a hotel on site...

thanks for the responses so far. Has anyone got experience of the coach journey or of staying "outside" the magic as opposed to "inside" the magic??

  • Hi
We did the leger coach trip with our points last year. It is a very long journey, we had a 3 year old, who to be honest coped with it much better than myself.
I found the UK bit the worst, all the stops, picking people up etc. Once in France not too bad.
Saying all this I am saving again for next year and will probably do the same, don't think I can be bothered with arrangements doing it any other way. Like the fact that its all sorted for you, suppose I'm lazy like that.
