Ok, i have a desk top pc, inside there are 3 hard drives, i have windows XP on each, however one hard drive is only about 20 gig another is about 50 and the one i use is 110gig.
now what im thinking is buying another hard drive maybe 200 gig or so and take my little 20 gig one out that i do not use.
without taking my pc to bits and removing an hard drive now, how can i find out what it is to search the internet to find one that with fit into its space?

There ar egenerally three sizes of hard drive 3.5", 2.5" and 1.8". In a desktop PC it's almost certainly a 3.5" drive. The main thing you need to check is whether it has an IDE connector or a SATA connector. It's my problem, it's my problem
If I feel the need to hide
And it's my problem if I have no friends
And feel I want to die0 -

ok, all i know is that there are whit 'ribbon' type plastic wires connectioning to the unit then to the connector on my pc?? is that info any good. All the big powers they've silenced me. So much for free speech and choice on this fundamental human right, and outing the liars.0 -
Hello,
If it's a 'ribbon' cable with ridges (usually 40 or 80 ridges) on it then it's IDE. SATA uses a much narrower cable with no ridges.
