Strange problem this......

Just replaced the original cd player in my 99 406 HDi (CD player was knackered.) for an aftermarket JVC one, and the problem of poor reception at times is still there, although not as bad as the original unit's radio.

The aerial and stub base were replaced by me about 2 years ago, due to poor reception, so should I be looking anywhere else, and if so where?

  • Aerial on the roof, perhaps?

Not sure if that would be the case, as they aerial and stub were both replaced with brand new genuine Peugeot components.

I am lead to believe that the stub is a sort of coil for reception purposes.

Remove the stub base and check for corrosion where the outer sheath of the cable earths to the body.
