The Compers Inn - Part 26

I have just been looking at this comp site - http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=396298
and my joke is on the page and it says winners will be posted on this page and sent some cards, I haven't heard anything nor do I remember how long ago I entered, more then likely 2/3 months ago, any ideas??
Just had an email from them......
Hi Emma,
thanks again for contacting us about the Joke page. We hadn't received any new jokes for years but yours came out of the blue so we have added it with an acknowledgement. I have tried to find out whether we have any more of the EPCS 15th anniversary decks available as a prize, but the previous secretary still has them and so I will let you know if we find any.
Regards,
Simon

No jokes for years!!!! ...... lmao :rotfl: :rotfl:0 -
This was the last reply from ASA which mentions them going to ISP
Thank you for your patience while we have been considering your complaint.
We have been in correspondence with the advertiser and, from what we have seen, we think that what occurred seems to have been a genuine error or an isolated incidence of poor communication. We have not seen a pattern of problems with the promotion itself. The advertiser has told us that they will be contacting you direct shortly (they are aware that you cannot retrieve emails until after 14 April 2010) with a view to arranging a replacement prize (Runner's Up). On that basis, we will be closing our correspondence in this case.
I have written to the Institute of Sales Promotion in connection with their referral of your complaints to us. Thank you again for your patience while we have been considering your complaint.2025 - finally back comping after a stressful house move - send me fairy dust please0 -

I have spoken to ASA who have said it was a mistake so nothing they can do about it. As much as I'm glad I won something I feel a little let down that they can do this. Is it just me?
Don't know whether they can do it but if I was you i'd make a more of a fuss about it as sounds like they're just fobbing you off! Do you have an email that says what you won or was it telephone call? Agree with toni, contact ISP as well and keep pestering company/ASA.2008: £783.12 - 2009: £6,401.15 - 2010: £4,230.61 - 2011: £8720 - 2012: £2,041.89

This is the competition, http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=2038217&highlight=clothes+show+live+2009+dare
I have the email which says I won, which firstly stated just the tickets to which I queried if I'd won the main prize or runners up the reply states it was the main prize.
Somebody from the company (not the person who first told me I'd won) phoned me on Friday saying they were going to see what went wrong then the DVD set arrived yesterday & an email offering me :-
Please can I apologise for the confusion and we would like to offer you two complimentary tickets to the next Show, Clothes Show London, which is the sister event to Clothes Show Live, taking place this June at Earl’s Court in London.
I appreciate this is a distance from your current location and if it is too far to travel we can offer you tickets to the Clothes Show Live event taking place in December at Birmingham’s NEC.2025 - finally back comping after a stressful house move - send me fairy dust please0 -

Having looked through my sent emails my original complain was sent to complaints@isp.org.uk & edwinm@isp.org.uk who have then sent it ASA I presume as all replies have come from Neil Burrows @ ASA.2025 - finally back comping after a stressful house move - send me fairy dust please0

PMS, it is disappointing but not sure if this one. In some terms and conditions they say the company has the right to cancel etc ...am not saying this is acceptable, esp that they notified you of a win, just thinking..
I would be quite disappointed if this happened to me.
OMG just looking at the comp you mean, there's a huge difference between the main prize and the runner up :mad::mad:
hope you manage to sort it out. It sounds like they want to blame it on mis-communication.0 -
